Scary fun was the theme at Milton Pope on Halloween this year.
Students were able to dress up in their costumes for the day and enjoy a lunch that was centered around Halloween ideas; chicken nuggets shaped as witches hats and pumpkins appeared on trays, along with spooky fries and "candy corn" mixed fruit. But the surprises didn't stop there! At the end of the day each class could be found playing games or watching movies with candy and popcorn in hand.
Staff members didn't miss out on the chance to have some scary fun either. They teamed up and dressed as a Super Hero with masks, capes, shirts, and even a few tutu's!
Below are photos that captured some of the smiles and laughs you could find that filled the hallways at MP.

Family and friends of Milton Pope students who have served in the military were honored at an assembly on November 9th.
Students were encouraged to fill out forms that told the name of their veteran as well as what branched they served in and for how long, to be hung on a display in the main entrance of the school.
Parents, veterans, and community members were invited to attend the ceremony, as any veteran that was in attendance was recognized for their service.
The featured speaker was Marseilles VFW Commander, Scott Buennemeyer, who shared his story of leading his unit in Operation Desert Storm.
Each grade level completed a project to contribute to the assembly and gain knowledge of the impacts veteran's have in our country. The Third Grade class presented their research reports on Branches of the Military. Kindergarten and First Grade classes sang together When the Flag Goes By and the Grand Ole Flag. The MP Band played the Star Spangled Banner and the Armed Forces on Parade Medley, as Clara Cartrwight topped off the assembly with a solo of God Bless the USA.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, all in attendance were invited to the cafeteria for cake and punch, and to walk the halls of MP to view Junior High students Timelines of Veterans.
On Monday, August 21st, students at Milton Pope were able to experience their first solar eclipse.
Students were given special glasses to view the phenomena, with lots of oohs and ahhs that followed!
Below are photos our staff took during the event:
